Learning & Teaching Support Librarian
We are seeking to appoint a highly-motivated information professional to a new position in the Academic Services section of the Library. The post holder will be a member of the team that is responsible for providing resources and services to support all taught course students in the University.
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to supervise teams, liaise and build relationships effectively with academics and work closely with other colleagues within Academic Services and other University units to develop and deliver training and resources to taught-course students. Experience of teaching information skills will be essential as the designing and delivery of such sessions will be a significant function of this position. This role is key to the enquiries services offered by Academic Services and includes the development and maintenance of online support, such as tutorials, subject guides and instant messaging.
It is essential you have a degree or equivalent qualification in librarianship or information science, You will also have successfully managed projects, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working as a member of a team in a busy environment. You must able to take initiative, be well organised and have a proven ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines. A familiarity with the HE environment relating to the use of ICT in teaching and skills support is essential. A demonstrable high level of IT skills is essential in addition to excellent oral and written communication, especially in relation to teaching.

Research Support Librarian
We are seeking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic information professional, with demonstrable experience of providing support to researchers within an HE environment.
Reporting to the Academic Services Manager, this exciting new role will lead on coordinating and developing the University Library’s services and resources for the researcher community, including support for Open Access publishing and research data management.
The post-holder will work closely with other colleagues within Academic Services and other University units to develop and deliver training to researchers, and will lead on support for the institutional repository in collaboration with colleagues in Technical Development and Technical Services.
It is essential you have a degree or equivalent qualification in librarianship or information science. You will also have successfully managed staff and projects, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working as a member of a team in a busy environment. You must able to take initiative, be well organised and have a proven ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines. A familiarity with the current UK research environment is also essential.
