Dear colleagues,
in a recent trip to the US visiting Brooklyn Botanic Garden I found out that currently developments in the American Educational system encourage more inquiry-based learning. Brooklyn Botanic Garden has already set up teacher training courses on inquiry-based science education. For inspiration on what sort of plant based investigations you can engage your students in have a look at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden website: http://www.bbg.org/learn/teachers#/tabs-2
We are also in contact with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden educators to get some of their resources available on the INQUIRE website so watch out our resource page... http://www.inquirebotany.org/en/resources.html
In the meantime, have a look at the INQUIRE latest discussion which is questioning whether Climate change is still a hot topic within the British Education system http://www.inquirebotany.org/en/discussions/climate-change-still-a-hot-topic-604.html. Feel free to contribute with your comments in the discussion.
best wishes from snowy London,
