Dear Colleagues,
With apologies for any cross-posting, the Division of Literature and Languages at Stirling University (including French and Spanish) is currently accepting applications for newly-created Research Postgraduate Bursaries (see details below).
Please draw this to the attention of promising candidates – there is a tight deadline for this and candidates interested in applying should contact potential supervisors in the first instance. Details of staff and their specialisms can be found here: http://www.slcr.stir.ac.uk/staff/.
Many thanks,

UNIVERSITY OF STIRLING: SCHOOL OF ARTS AND HUMANITIES
2013-14 Research Postgraduate Bursaries
The School of Arts and Humanities is pleased to offer a number of research postgraduate bursaries at £6000 per annum for students starting a research degree programme in the coming academic year 2013-14.
These bursaries will be awarded competitively and applicants may come from any of the various subject areas of the School – Communications, Media and Culture, Law, Philosophy, History, Politics, English, Languages, and Religion, with the intent of attracting the best possible candidates for research work within or across these respective disciplines.
Value of the Bursaries
The funds will extend across a two-year (MPhil) or three-year (PhD) period, and can be placed towards fees, living expenses, or a combination thereof. All bursary awards will be for three years (academic session 2013/14 – 2015/16).
Student Eligibility
In order to be eligible, you must already have been offered a place on one of our research postgraduate programmes by Tuesday 30 April 2013. If you hold a conditional offer, you are still eligible to apply. (See further details on How to Apply for a research postgraduate programme here: http://www.stir.ac.uk/postgraduate/how-to-apply/)
Applicants should not already be holding a full external funding award for the 2013-14 academic session, but they may of course be in the process of applying for other awards. The awards may be available for students with partial funding in place but are in need of further financial support to commit to their studies.
The bursaries are open to Home/EU and Overseas applications.
Submission Deadline
As well as making a full research postgraduate programme application, applicants wishing to be considered for these bursaries should complete the Research Postgraduate Bursary Application Form (available from potential supervisors), and submit it electronically to the Graduate Studies inbox, [log in to unmask], no later than Tuesday 30 April 2013.
Notification of Awards
Applications will be ranked according to academic merit by a School Awards Committee. Award holders will be notified in June 2013.
