On 20 September the School of Modern Languages will be hosting a one-day conference on Teaching and Learning Languages through online Open Educational Resources.
While an increasing number of language teaching practitioners are experimenting with technology - creating and incorporating online resources into their teaching - these experiences are still often carried out in relative isolation. Opportunities for review, dissemination and discussion are often limited. This conference intends to provide examples of best practice from a broad educational spectrum - to include Secondary Schools, Further, Higher & Continuing Education - to help bridging the gaps that exist in the teaching community, begin a more structured debate around this topic and create opportunities for sharing and collaboration.
We welcome papers on any past, present and future projects focusing on the use of online Open Educational Resources in Language Teaching and Learning. These can range from small-scale pilots to bigger case-studies including MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses).
Abstracts for a 20-minute presentation/workshop should be no longer than 300 words and should be sent by email in a titled, single-spaced attachment with name, address and affiliation to Gloria Visintini, Andrea Zhok or Jonas Langner no later than Friday 24 May 2013.
