Thanks for this observation. This is exactly why I've tried to get
systems of units of measurement into Ada, starting in 1978, and Fortran,
starting in 1986.
The usual response has been "Huh? Why would we want to do that?" Or,
"It's much more important to get performance features." Or, "We already
have too much work; come back in five years and ask again."
