Dear KT-EQUAL supporters,

Here's an update about some of our activities and other news that may be of interest to you.

------------------------------------------
Upcoming events programme

You are warmly invited to join us at our upcoming events:

------------------------------------------
Issues and Perspectives on Digital Technologies and Care
------------------------------------------
When: Tues 16 April 2013
Time: 13.00pm - 17.00pm
Where: Resource for London, 356 Holloway Road, London, N7 6PA

This workshop event will explore changes, challenges and opportunities associated with new digital technologies for care. Research aimed at improving the lives of older and disabled people has produced a wide range of digital applications designed to help maintain independence in later life. Examples include on-line digital services, caseload management, and easy communication between service users as well as across service providers.

The workshop aims to:

- Understand the new community care landscape that increasingly incorporates digital technologies
- Share perspectives across stakeholders
- Widen the knowledge of issues around innovation of care through use of digital technologies
- Make new contacts

This workshop has been designed to appeal to practitioners, researchers and care providers (including voluntary organizations and small enterprises) and anyone with an interest in digital technologies for care.

Free to attend with lunch and refreshments included.

UX MATTERS Product Design Conference
------------------------------------------
The University of Bath R&D and KT-EQUAL would like to invite you to our ifOnly conference called *UX MATTERS* - exploring how user experience can guide the future of product design.

When: May 10, 2013
Time: 09:00 to 14:00
Where: The Hilton Bath City Hotel, Walcot Street, Bath, Somerset BA1 5BJ

We have been looking into the use of assisted technology in the home for people with painful, long term conditions, to enable independent living. Our iphone app, ‘ifOnly’, encouraged people with disabilities to tell us what gets in the way of everyday life. People recorded, uploaded, and shared video to tell us of everyday problems they were facing. We then asked design students across the UK to enter our design competition, and come up with innovative solutions for new, user friendly, products. At our free event in the Hilton Hotel, in Bath, on 10th May 2013, the competition winner is presented with an award for the best idea.

Also featuring guest speaker -

Guiding Design Principles, Patrick W Jordan.
