Missing People is pleased that bookings are now open for the 1st International Conference on Missing Children and Adults 'Working Across Borders', being held at the University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth UK from the 18 -20 June 2013. The conference will be partnered by Missing People, CEOP, UK Missing Persons Bureau and the Centre for the Study of Missing Persons.
It promises to be an interesting and informative conference, with a number of key speakers already confirmed including:
- Lucy Holmes (Missing People, UK) and Dr Penny Woolnough, (Grampian Police, UK) speaking on mental health and missing.
- Robert J. Koester (Kingston University & dbS Productions, UK) speaking on autism and dementia in Search and Rescue incidents.
- Dr. Meredith Rowe (University of South Florida College of Nursing, USA) speaking on missing incidents in persons with dementia.
- Deborah Ginns, Naomi Maunel and Ben Simpson from Neighbourhood Return.
An afternoon session on day two will cover the issue of Search and Rescue. Other topics include child sexual exploitation, child rescue alert and the new ACPO guidance on missing/absent.
