Dear Colleague,
We are pleased to announce that Volume 3 of Religion and Society has recently been published by Berghahn Journals. This issue starts off with a portrait of Jean Comaroff, one of the most important voices in the anthropology of religion over the past 30 years. The articles in this issue are particularly anthropological in theme. Topics include: the classics in teaching the anthropology of religion, the Occupy movement in London, cosmology, the links between religion and sport, and hyperbole and sacredness as idioms. The debate section explores another interesting development in the anthropology of religion: the place and role of religion in revolutionary contexts. Finally, the section "An Author Meets His Critics" scrutinizes Manuel Vásquez's More Than Belief, a book that picks up long-standing debates in the study of religion, bringing together issues of practice, belief, materiality, and cognition in an innovative way.
