I've just used google maps to find the Ashtead one. The box itself is clearly visible on Google Earth.

Subject: Re: [LOCAL-HISTORY] Edward VIII Postboxes
There is one in Ashtead, Surrey at the corner of Overdale and Broadhurst. It is quoted in the "Industrial History of Mole Valley History" that there were 271 letter boxes cast of which 161 were pillar boxes. A letter to the Times (28 October 2002) quoted 161 cast with about 150 still in use. Of the large "A" size boxes only 14 remain, at least seven of these are in London. There is (or was) one in Golf Links Road (no mention of which town) and another at Lilliput Road in Poole, Dorset. One found in a wall at Bawdsey, Suffolk is made in Birmingham by James Ludlow.
