Sewer vents and related matters makes for an interesting discussion, but
perhaps somewhat off topic for this group.
Tho' maybe as a by-product of visits to many of the Spas (Spaws) the
'purgings' had to go somewhere - often local bushes or where-ever(?) in the
past.
I am currently reading Bruce & Coras tome on Celia Fienes and Spaws so this
is in my mind - we take our 'take aways' for granted and forget the frequent
lack of facilities at a time and place of need!
Street furniture is something we all walk by without a thought daily.

I must admit have always wondered what happens to the build up of gases,
they must have had a solution as they're aren't sewer pipes or stink poles
around...not exploded yet..
