International Women, Ageing and Media Research Summer School
23-24 July 2013, Cheltenham, UK
*Overview:*
The 2013 International Women, Ageing and Media (WAM) Research Summer School
(at the University of Gloucestershire) will take place in Cheltenham (UK)
on 23rd and 24th July and will bring together international postgraduate
researchers across disciplines whose research engages with women, ageing
and issues of identity, representation, creativity, lived experience and
popular cultural forms (popular music, film, television, literature and
digital social media). The Summer School will provide excellent
opportunities for UK postgraduates to make important connections with other
researchers working in the field of Ageing Studies and in addition to
presenting work there will be research training workshops exploring emerging
questions and conceptual issues relating to women and ageing studies.
An e-paper consisting of all selected abstracts, revised by the presenters
shortly after the symposium into 500 word pieces, will be produced as a
post-event output and WAM also aim to offer an opportunity for full papers
to be submitted for review and inclusion in the inaugural edition of the
postgraduate e-journal, *Women, Ageing and Media*.
