Apologies for cross-posting
Screenworks are delighted to announce the publication of Lizzie Thynne's evocative biography, On The Border (56 mins), http://www.jmpscreenworks.com/?pid=vol4
Screenworks is a peer-reviewed online publication of practice research in film and screen media, edited by Dr Charlotte Crofts and associate editor, Steve Presence, both based at The University of the West of England, Bristol, with support from the Digital Cultures Research Centre. Screenworks publishes practice research that produces new knowledge in Communication, Media and Cultural Studies, Art and Design, Performing Arts and related fields. We offer a forum for the dissemination and discussion of practice research that includes space for reflection on research contexts. Work is published alongside a research statement, which offers a 'route map' of the research process, together with two anonymous reviews, which provide critical feedback on both the work itself and its research context.
On The Border is a complex multi-layered work portraying place, absence and subjectivities - merging biography and autobiography in its exploration of the life of author's mother, Lea through the family archive.
You can read the research statement and peer reviews here: http://www.jmpscreenworks.com/?pid=thynne
In an attempt to be more responsive and utlise the affordances of online publication, Volume 4 is being published on a rolling basis and we will publish each screenwork as soon as the reviewing process is completed. More screenworks are in the process of peer review and will appear here shortly. We're still accepting work for this volume so please refer to the submissions guidelines where you can download the required submission form: http://www.jmpscreenworks.com/page/submissions.
