The Conversation with Diplomacy project is part of the Centre for the Study of Divided Societies (CSDS), supported by the Middle East and Mediterranean Studies (MEMS) programme. Conversation with Diplomacy focuses on key areas of international concern through an extended series of engagements with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and foreign diplomats. The project brings together the worlds of diplomacy, business and academia to address dilemmas facing western governments in the pursuit of foreign policy interests in divided societies across the developing world.

British diplomats: HM Ambassador to Kuwait Frank Baker; Lord Michael Williams (Former UN Under Secretary General in the Middle East); HM Consul General Richard Makepeace (Jerusalem), HM Ambassador Frances Guy (Beirut), and HM Ambassador John Jenkins (Baghdad), Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles KCMG LVO, The Foreign Secretary's Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan and Minister at Kabul, HM Ambassador James W Watt CVO, (Jordan), and US Senator George Mitchell, President Obama's Special Envoy for Middle East, and H.E. Fouad Siniora (former Prime Minister of Lebanon).
