Hello,
Are you keen to demonstrate the relevance of your service in these challenging times?
If you are, then you are invited to a one day conference on the theme of
'Positively promoting your service', on Thursday 25th April.
The event has been organised by the Cilip Academic and Research Libraries Group (ARLG) East Midlands and is hosted by one of the UK's newest universities on the outskirts of Lincoln, Bishop Grosseteste University.
The event aims to include the following:
· How can I promote the benefits of the Library Service?
· What new tools and techniques can I try to get these messages across effectively to staff and students?
· I need to develop a more strategic approach throughout 'the student journey', how can I get started?
· How can I gather information about student reactions to new and existing services?
Whatever part of an academic library service you work in, if you would like to find out more, then please join us in April.
The Speakers for the day are: Kay Grieves and Michelle Halpin (Sunderland), Ihar Ivanou (North Warwickshire and Hinckley College), Jo Taplin-Green and Richard Collings (London School of Economics) and Charlotte Heppell (University of Northampton).
You'll have the opportunity over lunchtime to look around the significantly extended and refurbished Library, a £2.75m project, formerly opened by HRH, The Princess Royal on 15 February.
After lunch there will be a workshop session to help you build on the ideas you have learnt and develop your own promotional campaign. The ARLG East Midlands will be holding a short AGM at the end of the day.
We look forward to meeting you there.
