Hello David,
Our torque server was running on another machine. I performed a similar
procedure on this machine. I did set the job number for new jobs to
continue from where the old one stopped.
Of course you have to make sure that you store the important log files
in a safe place (cream log files and torque log files are important for
accounting and tracking back jobs from the past). I copied most of them
to the new machine(s) as well to have them in a single location.
I assumed there was no information in the Cream database that had to be
transferred to the new system in order for new jobs to work properly. I
haven't seen any error messages related to the database.
