Many thanks to all. Will look at and digest. Possibly more confused
than ever. May be best to do as Jel says - keep walking the way that I
have done fo 60 years and keep buying the new boots. What prompted me
to ask is that my last ones costing £130.00 - Zamberlans (superbly
comfortable boots) only lasted 7 months due to the lateral wear. With
even wera I suspect I could have got 18 - 24 months out of them and
have been happy with that.
