GDP Consultancy Announcement
The Global Detention Project, based at the Graduate Institute's Programme for the Study of Global Migration in Geneva, Switzerland, is seeking a consultant to complete a report on immigration detention practices and policies in Arab Gulf States. The consultancy will be for a term of 60 days and involve desk research, interviews with key actors in the region, and report drafting. It will pay a daily fee of 350 USD and be completed by the end of July 2013. Qualifications
· Fluent/native speaking and writing ability in both English and Arabic;
· Demonstrated experience undertaking research and publishing findings;
· Demonstrated knowledge of international human rights framework, particularly with respect to migrant and refugee rights;
· Knowledge/previous work experience in immigration-related detention is sought although it is not an absolute requirement;
· Higher educational degree in law or social sciences;
· Experience undertaking qualitative and quantitative research is an asset;
· Currently located in the Gulf or having considerable experience living in the region and working with relevant actors there.
