The School of Geography is a leading international research department, one of the top-ranked in the UK. We seek to appoint an excellent human geographer whose research interests will complement the work of its Citizenship and Belonging research cluster.
We are looking especially for innovative candidates with records of internationally excellent research to join our strong and dynamic group. Research in the cluster is organised around five themes: 1) Social identities and difference, particularly focusing on sexuality, age, race, religion, disability, gender, class and national identities; 2) Transnational society, diaspora and citizenship; 3) Citizenship, multiculturalism, and cosmopolitanism; 4) Human rights, equalities, and legal geographies; and 5) Innovative methodologies for understanding citizenship and belonging The group maintains close links with the School’s Cities and Social Justice cluster.
You will be expected to help maintain and further enhance an intellectually stimulating atmosphere in the School. You will be expected to participate in the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes and provide academic leadership, as appropriate.
A PhD degree or equivalent in geography or a relevant cognate area is essential for this role. You must also have a track record of research expertise and internationally excellent publication in areas that complement the research activities of the Citizenship and Belonging cluster.
