Hi Stuart,
We've also very concerned about this; I noticed this on our test system, and have postponed our upgrade from SP9 until we find a way round this. Our main concern is around the first point you describe with the new ordering of the items in My Grades, but thanks for pointing out your concerns with the feedback not being clear; I hadn't picked up on this, but agree that it's not apparent when feedback is added to a grade.
We make extensive use of the Grade Centre and My Grades, often setting up a number of columns for different assessment criteria, and then a calculated column to find the overall grade for that unit based on these criteria. We've been very careful to order the columns in the Grade Centre specifically so that the students can understand the results in My Grades, so the new ordering which you describe will undo this work.
I've been talking to various people in Blackboard about this, including Product Development in The States, and have suggested they add an option to revert the ordering in My Grades to the 'classic order', i.e. as per the Grade Centre; I've attached a mock-up of my suggestion, shown as "Course Order" and "Ordered by Recently Graded" buttons. Product Development have indicated that a number of institutions have reported this issue, and they are looking into a 'fix', although it won't be included in SP12. As an interim we've found out from Bb Support that the new My Grades is actually a Building Block and can therefore be disabled from the command line, meaning we can revert to the old My Grades tool until a 'fix' is released. I'd be very happy to talk directly about this if it would be useful.
It would be great if you could contact your account manager and feed this back to add to the case for making a change; the more institutions who report that the new My Grades tool won't work for them the more weight there will be behind including a 'fix' in a service pack soon.
Best regards

Subject: Course My Grades - Bb9.1 SP11
Hello,
We have recently started exploring Bb9.1 SP11. The course My Grades has been changed from a tabular to a linear view (and looks like the Social My Grades feed). Instructors are unable to set the order of grade columns as they automatically display to students in the order that they were graded with the latest first, and the column feed is automatically split into graded and upcoming. More crucially, we feel that it makes it difficult for students to identify whether feedback accompanies the grade; this is especially so if feedback to an assignment has been uploaded as an attached file. Students knowing that feedback is available through My Grades is vital as many of our staff are now providing feedback online to their students through the Grade Centre.
We are interested in what other users feel about this change.
Thanks,
Stuart Hepplestone
