Registration has now opened for 'Educating Mind, Body & Spirit: Adult Education since 1838' on 24-25 April 2013.
As part of its 175th anniversary,the University of Westminster’s School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages and Archives Services will be hosting a conference titled 'Educating Mind, Body & Spirit: Adult Education since 1838' on 24-25 April 2013, at our historic 309 Regent Street building in the heart of London.
The conference includes papers from archivists and academics from a wide variety of both UK and international institutions, with sessions on Adult Education and Institutions; Educating Through Culture; Gender and Adult Education; Adult Education Initiatives and Personalities; and Adult Education: Comparative Perspectives. The conference coincides with the publication of Part 3 of the University's History Project, titled Educating Mind, Body and Spirit: The legacy of Quintin Hogg and the Polytechnic, 1864-1992, co-authored by Helen Glew, Antony Gorst, Michael Heller and Neil Matthews, and includes a launch event for the publication on the evening of Tuesday 24th April.
