The Institute of Psychiatry (IoP), a school of King’s College London, invites applications for a
Research Methods Internship funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). This two
month summer internship is based in London and will start at the beginning of July 2013. The
scheme will provide the scope to apply statistical methods in a discrete research project to apply
and to gain experience of NIHR research. The intern will be supported by a NIHR Research
Methods Fellow in medical statistics currently hosted by the IoP. The fellow/internship is linked to
the NIHR research programme PERCEIVE.
The successful candidates will be a home or EU undergraduate student in mathematics or statistics
at a UK university. Undergraduates in their second year of their degree (or third year of a 4 year
degree) may apply. Undergraduates from other fields who have quantitative skills and some
familiarity with statistical ideas (e.g. economics or physics) may also apply.
The remuneration will be in the range of £18,000 – £20,000 per annum, pro rata, inclusive of
