Hi
The latest issue of HEPL is now online. In this issue, there are
original research articles on NICE's social value judgments vis-a-vis
equity (by Koonal Shah, Richard Cookson, Tony Culyer and Peter
Littlejohns), about the medicalisation of health inequalities in the
English NHS (by Sheena Asthana, Alex Gibson and Joyce Halliday), on
neglected infectious diseases and drug development research (by Frank
Mueller-Langer), and on community rating in the Irish private health
insurance market (by Brian Turner and Edward Shinnick).
There then follows a perspective article on market failures in the
provision of clinical trial ancillary care, by Michael Richards and
Lorens Helmchen.
The issue finishes with a special section on the English Health and
Social Care Act, with particular focus on Nick Timmins' recent book,
'Never Again'. In this section there are contributions from Rudolf
Klein, Calum Paton, and Julian Le Grand & Zack Cooper. John Appleby then
provides a reflection on these contributions, and Nick Timmins sums up.
The issue can be found at:

I hope you find it of interest.
Very best,
Adam Oliver, and on behalf of the main editorial team, Elias Mossialos,
Sarah Thomson and Azusa Sato.
