I've just been asked off-list for advice on OCR and/or double-keying of
Greek text. (I answered that question: I just sent them to speak to
Bruce Robertson!) It made me think about the FAQ page on this subject in
the Digital Classicist wiki, however
(http://wiki.digitalclassicist.org/OCR_for_ancient_Greek), and the fact
that there must be more specific advice on this, and people on the list
who can give some discussion in general terms on when OCR is
appropriate/realistic as opposed to keying, hand-correcting, the
availability of spell-checkers etc.
If anyone would like to propose such a discussion, either by composing
in the wiki (if you have an account--if not I can give you one), or by
sending text to the list and someone will copy it to the wiki for you.
(And someone might even be able to add to or revise it here...)
Thanks in advance,
Gabby
