Hi Maria
the main technical list is at http://lists.nottingham.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/xerte but it can be quite busy with technical discussion.

However if as you say Captivate 5 and 6 only export to AS3 FP9+ then the only way to use that ouput would be to upload and use the embed content page as Pat suggested. If the output from Captivate can still be set to generate a single swf then you should be able to upload that via media and quota and then use the link in the embed content page. If the output is multiple files and sub folders then you'll need to get that online separately e.g. ftp and then link to the html fil in the embed content page.

Ron

Apologies for posting to wrong emailing list. Could you advise which list this should be addressed to please?

FYI Cap 5 and 6 only export to AS3 (Flashplayer 9 or later) AS2 no longer supported so can't use the Captivate Template in XOT for this. Shame!

You would have to store the snippet in a file, or in a variable, as you can't get from the clipboard, perhaps the wizard could use a local shared object or whatever it's called? I might have a look at that. It wouldn't copy media across though, that would need a bit more work,

Ha! That was going to be my suggestion :)

Re copying and pasting slides - we though about coding it into XOT, it wouldn't be too hard to do.

A resource bank - we also thought about doing this with xpert, and it wouldn't be hard to do - but there aren't hundreds of XOTs contributing to xpert so might not be the numbers needed

Subject: HTML5 Example

Just wondering whether anyone has an example Xerte object which shows off all (or most) of the page templates supported in HTML5 output?

E.g. like this: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/toolkits/play_560 but using the HTML player.

Thanks, Adam

What is tracked when you output a Xerte learning object as a SCORM package? I want to track completion of Interactive templates pages such as hotspot image and drag and drop labelling. That is I want to set-up a summative quiz that comprises more than just multiple choice type questions.

Subject: XOT 1.9 and Captivate

Hi

I'm using Captivate 6 and have uploaded the published SWF file to the Captivate Page template. However when previewing the XOT learning object, the captivate page does not display. It is trying to display but there is a hissing/crackling sound and it blinks furiously. Are there any suggested settings for Cap 6 which I should be aware of? I've taken off the preloader, etc.

Thanks for any suggestions (I've tried Cap 5.5 but it has the same problem).

Regards
Maria

Hi Maria

this isn't really the correct mailing list for this type of question but at a guess you need to change the output options in Captivate so that the reulting file is Actionscript 2 Flash Player 8. e.g. if you publish to AS3 it won't work in Xerte which is AS2 only.
