This is a challenging and unique opportunity to be at the forefront of
establishing a new Institute for Policy Research which will enhance the
profile of the University of Bath as a centre for excellence in
policy-relevant research. The Institute will involve research teams
from across the University and will build external networks of
collaboration with major stakeholders in government, business and civil
society, in the UK and internationally.
The Director will have overall responsibility for the development and
management of the new Institute. In addition to strong international
standing as a scholar and extensive national and international networks,
the post-holder will need to have the vision and leadership qualities to
provide strategic direction to the Institute, and the highly developed
management and communication skills necessary to inspire and motivate
the team to deliver that vision. A strong record of active policy
engagement is also essential.
