The Faculty of Science is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to contribute to a high-profile project (http://www.rcuk.ac.uk/per/Pages/PartnershipsInitiative.aspx). The aims of this project are to embed a culture at The Open University where schools-university engagement is strategically planned, effectively delivered, and systematically assessed.
You will conduct evaluation research, involving both quantitative and qualitative measures, assessing activities that engage school-age children (Key Stages 3, 4 and 5) with contemporary research. You should have in-depth knowledge and experience as an evaluation researcher, using multiple research methods. You will be aware of debates and issues concerning schools-university engagement. You should also be able to show evidence of taking a central role in previous research projects, including project management and contributing to the development of new funding bids.
You must have a completed PhD from a social science or other relevant discipline.
