For the hearing test environment, I recommend at the start of a hearing test session the suitability of the environment to conduct the tests should be established.
A sound meter is used to record the background noise.
Where the background noise exceeds 30dB the site representative is informed that the area is too noisy to conduct hearing and establish if there is an alternative suitable location
If the background noise exceeds 30dV and the des soon is made to continue with the hearing test a then attenuating headsets must be worn and the background noise level recorded on the notes.
