Dear all,
We would like to draw your attention to the joint COST/CECAM Training School on Open Systems and the Quantum-Classical Boundary, to be held from 9-12 April 2013 at the University of Rome "La Sapienza".
The School aims to provide a unified view of the quantum-to-classical transition, combining dissipation theory, statistical approaches, and semiclassical and mixed quantum-classical theories. Some emphasis is placed upon the connection to numerical simulations of complex systems.
For more information, and to register please visit:

Confirmed lecturers include
Andreas Buchleitner (Freiburg University)
David Coker (University College Dublin and Boston University)
Raymond Kapral (University of Toronto)
Rocco Martinazzo (University of Milano)
Francesco Petruccione (University of KwaZulu-Natal)
Jyrki Piilo (University of Turku)
David Tannor (Weizmann Institute)
Jiri Vanicek (EPFL Lausanne)
The registration deadline is 15 March 2013. A limited number of student bursaries for travel and accommodation are available.
Please forward this announcement to doctoral students and postdoctoral research associates who might be interested in participating.
