This one-day course will give attendees a basic grounding in social
media so that they can get started using and making the most of the main
platforms available. The course will focus on how to use social
networking to market your organisation or service.
By the end of the day attendees should have a good understanding of:
Why should I use social media for marketing my organisation?
Is social marketing working? How do I know?
Where do I start?
Which social networking platforms/approaches should I try?
Basics of netiquette
There’s SO MUCH! How do I make it easy to manage?
How do I know what to talk about?
A more in-depth course led by Ned Potter (Digital marketing toolkit)
builds on the skills covered in this training course and will run in
Edinburgh in May 2013
Who should attend:
This course is aimed at anyone who is considering using social
networking for their organisation and doesn't know where to start. If
you need help getting started, this course will provide the grounding
you need to get going and be confident in using the different platforms.

Megan Roberts (@MeganJRoberts) is Information and e-media specialist for
business support company Oxford Innovation. She provides specialist
support to businesses and staff on using Social Media for business.
