I think that would be useful, especially contrasting them with SRM etc.,
and it would be useful to start that discussion fairly soon (i.e. at
Glasgow) rather than kick it into the long grass.
There's a lot of fuzziness about what constitutes 'cloud' as opposed
to 'grid', but I think we've got a basic handle on that for the CPU
side of things, but I'm not at all clear whether CDMI or S3 are in
any meaningful way more 'cloud' than our existing interfaces are, so
we could do anything ranging from declaring our current stuff to be
cloudy enough, and just having an GridPP cloud access the current
storage, have some 'cloud' and some 'grid' storage, have all the
interfaces on one system (S3 DMlite plugin?), or something else. Even
if storage is a harder problem to solve, I think it's helpful to get
some basic common understanding of what we're thinking about, and
where we might want to go in future, before we anyone gets too far
down any given road.
