GIS - Senior Systems Administrator
IMT manages an estate of 6,500 PCs and 1,500 mobile and laptop devices as well as a comprehensive integrated voice and data network, using both internal resources and managed services.
The role requires an enthusiastic, skilled GIS professional to work in a small GIS support & development team primarily using the ESRI suite of products.
The post holder will perform a broad variety of work, undertaking the day to day tasks required to maintain GIS systems in a local authority. However, the post holder must also have the ability to work well under pressure & be able to adapt quickly to both unpredictable and non-routine user requests, which may include supporting the county’s emergency management team.
Responsibilities will include:
· Technical and user support for the GIS software systems
· Technical lead in the configuration of corporate GIS desktop solutions
· Administering the corporate GIS data in the SQL geodatabases
· Undertaking GIS data manipulation & analysis through the use of scripts & tools, which may include building these in Python.
· Assist in managing the GIS websites
The post holder should possess good analytical and problem solving skills; demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with staff & others and be committed to keeping up to date with the ongoing changes in GIS technology.
It is essential to have current experience of using ArcGIS server preferably with SQL server.
