Kingston University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture: AHRC PhD and Masters Studentship Opportunities
Kingston University is a thriving centre for research in the Arts and Humanities and in 2011 was successful in securing AHRC Block Grant (Capacity Building) funding for 14 studentships across three years. The awards are designed to foster innovation and interdisciplinary research projects are welcomed.
For 2013-14, applications are invited for AHRC studentships in the following areas:
• PhD in History of Art, Design and Architecture, including Heritage; Museums; and Film
• AHRC Masters Studentship Opportunities
AHRC awards are fully funded with fees and maintenance grant at Home/EU fee level and are available for both full-time and part-time students. AHRC eligibility criteria apply. Please note that if you require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK, you will not be eligible for this funding.

The Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture is also inviting applications for PhD studentships in the following areas of research strength:
Architecture and its Contexts
Contemporary Art
Design for Communication and Image; Body and Material & Designed Environments
History of Art, Architecture and Design and Visual and Material Culture, Modern and related contemporary topics across disciplines; projects interrogating the relationships between practices or that draw upon methods across the different fields are welcome
Sustainable property investment & valuation; Education for a sustainable built environment; Spatial planning for sustainable communities; Delivering low carbon buildings.
These awards will include Home/EU fees and a £2,000 maintenance studentship. Applications are welcome from full and part time applicants (studentships will be pro rata for part time awards)
