This all sounds excellent. Any stand against the government's workfare programme should be supported.
Will this be a joint award to Cait Reilly and Jamie Wilson, as it was a joint appeal (with same lawyer) I think even though their circumstances were different.
Best wishes

Dear All,
Sorry am in India at moment and email access is intermittent so can't fully participate in discussion/suggestions. Agree with all so far and Rachel and Jo as the most recent posters. Realistically, it is unlikely that she and/or her lawyer would be able to come at short notice. Still we can ask. It should be relatively easy to get the lawyer's contact details via google and then invite her and extend invite to Cait. The message could be couched in terms of short notice, congratulations etc but we wanted to invite you because of the importance of your stand and victory etc. However, for the First Annual Award for Labour Rights Cait does not have to be present. We can present it in absentia. A straightforward press release can be drafted. So we need:
a) someone to contact Cait and her lawyer liaing with..
b)..someone to draft a press release in the name of CLS liasing with...
c)..someone who can identify press desks media, unions etc.
Sorry I cannot do more personally.
Phil

Wow Rachel, you should work more often with a tired brain - this is a fantastic idea.
The only issue I can foresee is that it is in only 2 weeks and we'd need to think about what kind of 'award' we would offer and also who is going to try to make contact with her and organise media press release etc. Is it fair of us all to put it all on Ian and his colleagues at Ruskin to arrange at this late stage - should we arrange an organising group for it?
If Miguel, Ian and colleagues think it could be done - would anyone like to offer help with this?
Cheers
Jo
