Do you remember the one about trees emitting methane? I thought it was a few
years ago but the story apparently raised its stupid head again last year
(http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2185493/Could-trees-causing-global-warming-Air-forests-80-000-times-normal-levels-methane.html#axzz2KInlEYwB).
Best not to dwell on it. Let's hope Polly Higgins gets her ecocide law
introduced (http://eradicatingecocide.com/). Met her last night and while
I'm not as optimistic as she is about the power of international law, she is
very much a values person. We need to change how we see the world and accept
that it owes us nothing. We owe it, big time. Worms & trees are NOT the
problem & I think, deep down, we know that!
cheers

Subject: Should we not be destroying these nasty earthworms?
Hello all,
Further to the current search for the culprits of climate change (or
something else to blame but us) the journal Nature published a new and
updated piece of research showing how the earthworms are to blame for the
increases in farm land soil emissions of carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide.
If these worms are to blame it leads to the blinkered and short sighted
argument that we must destroy the earthworms to redress the issue of these
soil emissions.
Who or what will humans blame next?
After all it is us that is causing the problems and mother nature that is
merely adapting to these conditions that we are creating.
Who is to blame for that? Mother Nature or us?
Chicken or Egg?
Plausible deniability?
Enjoy.
