* Adobe Award for Artist Engagement *
The ACM SIGCHI conference is the premier international conference on human-computer interaction which this year is exploring “new visions of people interacting with technology”. The Adobe Awards for Artist Engagement will enable three practising artists to participate and engage with the CHI conference and community, encouraging multidisciplinary interaction and promoting the role of artists in the future of interactive technology.
Three Awards of US$950 are available to contribute towards travel and registration costs for attending CHI 2013 ( chi2013.acm.org )
To apply for the Award, artists must submit a two-page pdf statement of application including:
- Description of their current practice in interactive art.
- Indication of what they would bring to CHI.
- Description of what they hope to gain from attending CHI 2013.
- How they intend to use the $950 award.

Please note: Applicants must be actively practicing in interactive art. Applicants may not be a faculty member at a university, nor working full-time at a private company. Applicants can be a full-time student.
A selection committee from the SIGCHI Creativity, Cognition and Art Community (CCaA; http://www.sigchi.org/communities/cccaa ) will review applications to select the three awardees.
Deadline for two-page statement of application: 5 March 2013
Notification of Awards: 12 March 2013
Deadline for CHI 2013 registration: 14 March 2013 (early bird registration date)
