Subject: Can anyone help this lady?
Hello everyone,
A lady called Kathryn Littlewood contacted me via Facebook. She is an advocate working for Sheffield Centre for Independent Living and she recently ran a course for disabled members for which she invited someone from the charity AIDIS to come and demonstrate assistive tech equipment for computers. She was disappointed with the person who came. In her words "although he brought a lot of different mouses and keyboards he didnt seem to have a real grasp on the either the latest technologies or more concerningly disabilites in general."
She is looking for someone who can do a home assessment for about four people with complex needs, to help them decide what equipment will be most suitable for them before they purchase anything.
As I am unable to help her directly, she gave me permission to forward this information to this mailing list in the hope that someone here can advise her how to proceed.
