Hello all,
The British Library and The Open University are pleased to be able to offer a three-year, full-time AHRC-funded studentship for doctoral work in Postcolonial Literature (to commence October 2013). Proposals will be accepted for any project seeking to utilise the British Library’s collections in relation to postcolonial literature. We would be particularly interested in receiving applications for work drawing on the important, recently-acquired archives of James Berry and Andrew Salkey. Both of these archives are rich in documentation illustrative of the impact of Caribbean writers on Britain. Proposals which seek to exploit the Library’s collections of audio-recordings together with these archives would also be welcome.
For advice prior to a formal application, please contact Professor Susheila Nasta ([log in to unmask]) or Helen Melody ([log in to unmask]), Curator, Modern Literary Manuscripts at The British Library.
Please note that this studentship is subject to the eligibility regulations for AHRC awards: http://www.ahrc.ac.uk/FundingOpportunities/Documents/GuidetoStudentFunding.pdf
For further particulars please see - http://www3.open.ac.uk/employment/job-details.asp?id=6750&ref=ext.
We would be grateful if members could pass this advert onto any people or groups to whom it may be of interest. The closing date for applications is 31st March 2013 and interviews will be held week commencing 22nd April.
Many thanks,
Helen
