Dear Colleagues,
I probably asked you all this a couple of years ago after a new client
asked me if I had professional indemnity insurance. At that time I had
enough credit to get this insurance and used Towergate. Now they want
me to renew (£305 that I don't have or a regular monthly direct debit
that's as much as my car or home insurance). As I'm freelance and
without a regular monthly wage I try to keep all my monthly regular
payments as low as I can. So, do I need professional indemnity
insurance as a 80% specialist 20% digger? It's a shame that my
membership of the IfA doesn't cover this. I will see if its cheaper to
see if I can rejoin 'Prospect' as an indpendent archaeologist because
a union might keep me legally protected. I know that these costs are
tax deductable but I still have to find the money now.
Any ideas welcome, my renewal date is 22nd March. If this question
isn't appropriate for this list could you tell me who else to ask?
best wishes,
Lisa
