A post is available for a bioinformatics officer to work in the Molecular Haematology Team (Team Leader Prof. Gareth Morgan).
The objective of the post is to process and analyse massively parallel sequencing data from a number of ongoing projects. The candidate will join an existing group of bioinformaticians within the team to use and further develop existing data analysis platforms for data extraction and mining of genomic databases.
Applicants will hold an MSc or a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics or a relevant field. S/he should have post-graduate experience with R/Bioconductor and Perl/Python and preferentially be experienced with analysis of genome sequencing data. Knowledge and experience with statistical data analysis and integration of high-content data is essential.
