Hi
(Wasn't sure which list to send this to - in the end settled on gridpp-storage rather than gridpp-cloud - which made me wonder why we don't use tb-support for everything…)
I was thinking of setting up some storage with (only) "cloud" interfaces (S3 and the like) and determine our ability to use them directly.
My questions are:
1) What people would consider to be the most "common" way to do this. I just want to use the most widespread "industry" solution. While CDMI looks good - and certainly more standard than what we use currently, I don't think we should tie ourself to another standard (if it is not near-universly used) that may have more functionality that we need (_if_ that is case needs establishing).
Things I am considering are S3 on ceph and openstack storage - but I don't really have any experience with these. Easy to set up is also a criteria - not just because I am lazy ;)
2) Are there are existing setups which I could use. Becuase I am lazy ;)
Cheers/ thanks
Wahid
