The University of Leeds welcomes applications for a funded PhD studentship (fees + £13,590 maintenance grant) on the following broad theme:
Project area: Classical influences on European discourses of heroism in the war effort and peace movement 1914-24. How the experience of war and its aftermath in the European context reflected and modified the concept of heroism and how gendered understandings differed between distinctive national experiences of victory, enemy occupation and defeat). Closing Date: 8 April 2013
The successful applicant will be based in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, and will be co-supervised by the University of Sheffield.
