The School of Economics and Business Administration at Friedrich
Schiller University of Jena offers the following position to be filled
as of summer term 2014:
Professor (W3) in Statistics
The successful candidate is expected to represent the entire field of
Statistics in teaching at the School of Economics and Business
Administration. Special focus is on the substantiated education in
statistical methods as well as the involvement in the respective majors
of education.
The candidate is expected to have a research focus in at least one of
the following areas: risk analysis, capital markets, decision theory or
data analysis. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate in
the School’s primary areas of research. Candidates are expected to have
an established research record in the area of statistics. Applicants
should also demonstrate their ability to obtain external research
funding (according to age).
Sustainable commitment for the further development of the teaching
program and teaching methods as well as the organization of a structured
PhD education is also required.
For further internationalization of the faculty’s research and teaching
profile, the language of instruction should at least partially be English.
For the position, a doctoral degree and a postdoctoral lecture
qualification or equivalent scientific achievements as well as
pedagogical aptitude are prerequisites for applying.
The Friedrich Schiller University Jena intends to increase the number of
