OK so that is only the CRL left lying around, other files are gone, and only the one for the 0.9.8 openssl was used

Will also show you which openssl is in your path
Since you have 0.9.8 which isn't "forwards compatible" only the 0.9.8 certificate files are installed (For some repos both file variants would be present since 1.0.0 is backwards compatible).
You certainly don't need that .r0 file any more AND leaving it there might cause fetch_crl problems later,
so I suspect it is safe to delete.
