Dear All,
I had a few actions from Tuesday's ops meeting. Of the two that are clear:
1) At the GDB I raised the question of site upgrade timelines where the site uses the tarball WN. Peter Solagna agreed that sites could not be expected to move safely and smoothly within 2 weeks given that the released tarball only came out this week. Sites that are using the tarball should therefore ensure that any ticket they receive regarding the gLite 3.2 migration clearly reflects their use of the tarball and provides a clear timetable for their transition. I would suggest 4 weeks from now as a target.
2) I mentioned news of EGI-Inspire funds for operations related mini-projects. A few suggestions have come back and I now have a little more information about the project idea (look here if interested https://indico.egi.eu/indico/materialDisplay.py?contribId=0&materialId=0&confId=1100). The focus is likely to be on well formulated proposals that benefit EGI-Inspire partners. This was was picked up earlier by the UK global task leaders and there are proposals from the UK being submitted in areas such as APEL, GOCDB and Security. Monday is the deadline for proposals. I've responded to individuals on ideas put forward, some of which we may like to consider within the core ops team even without outside funding.
Have a nice weekend,
Jeremy
