Dear Maria,
the conference in 2014 will be in Potsdam, Germany, hosted by Professor Kerstin Stutterheim at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen, 'Konrad Wolf'. Here is the link to school's web pages.

I thought I've informed about this but probably not... The executive council has held two meetings and maybe it might be good to post the minutes and agendas to the web site.
best wishes,

Subject: Re: Research opportunities at 2013 SRN Screenwriting Conference in Madison
Oops! This one has the attachments. Sorry about that -- JJ
Dear Colleagues,
A couple of you have asked me in the past about possible research opportunities at the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research, which has the 3rd largest holdings of any radio, film, and television archive in the USA.
In order to assist you, Kelley Conway and I met with our colleagues, Professor Vance Kepley and Mary Huelsbeck of the WCFTR the other day, to discuss collaboration between our conference and the archive. Both Vance and Mary are very excited about the conference being in Madison next year, and the ways this valuable scholarly resource might benefit your research. Mary and Vance have provided the following documents (see attachments) specifically for conference attendees. I wanted to pass them along to you right away. There is a also a link to the WCFTR web site, which contains additional information.
Our web master, Michael Trevis, will have this on our conference web site shortly, but I wanted to share this news with you right away. The WCFTR will be one short block way from where our conference will be held, and one short block away from the Lowell Center (one of our campus hotels), where most of you will be staying.
We hope you find this information useful, and hope you are planning to attend the conference (August 20-22, 2013). Don't forget that abstract submissions are due by January 1, 2013. They should be sent to [log in to unmask]

Dear colleagues,
A number of SRN members have written to me asking when they might hear on abstracts accepted for the conference. Given the fact that we don't have a sense of how many we will ultimately receive by our deadline, it makes it a very difficult question to answer. Be assured that Kelley and I are well aware that people need to know as soon as possible in terms of funding, so we will do our best to try to expedite the process.
In order to be efficient, however, it's simply not possible for our panel to review more than one abstract per individual. If you have already submitted multiple abstracts, please indicate the one you deem strongest to the email address provided:

Otherwise the committee will be forced to choose one arbitrarily. To my knowledge, no one has ever presented more than a single paper at a SRN conference, and that certainly won't be the case in Madison.
Thanks for you understanding. I hope you are all doing well.
Best,
JJ
