Subject: Athena Swan Social Science project
Dear All
As some of you may already know, there is a plan to extend the Athena Swan
project to the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Averil McDonald, who
is in charge of the pilot scheme, is currently putting together the final
report and recommendations (current draft attached for information). She
would like to append to this report expressions of interest from
departments that would like to participate in the further development of
this scheme or would be interested in submitting for an award when the
scheme is established.
Also attached are the draft template and 'Charter Principles' which is
what a department would complete for their submission and the 'How To'
guidance so you can get a general idea of what it would look like (these
documents are drafts and are not to be published or widely disseminated).
If your department is interested, please could you contact Averil (cc'ed
into this email) with a signed letter by the 25th January. This letter
wouldn't necessarily commit departments to anything - it's simply so that
ECU can see the level of interest.
Best wishes
Stephen
