Hello Deborah
Sorry I can' t provide a research reference however the Amplivox Spirometry course notes which I have (2011) advise referral to the GP before undertaking Spirometry if the client has "Gross Hypertension". This was clarified as a consistent systolic of >160.
There is a full list of contraindications recommended on the course which I have attached. Apologies for my scribbling on the attachment.
Regards

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] High bp & spirometry
Hi
Can anyone help me please - I am in the middle of writing a case study and need to find some evidence regarding blood pressure levels and the performing of spirometry. Does anyone have any research to share or any levels set within company policies?
Many thanks
