Dear all,
Apologies for cross-posting.
The Connect10 competition is back! Your museum, gallery or heritage site could win one of 10 top contemporary artists and £2000 for your Museums at Night event.
Any venue in Culture24's database can submit a participatory event idea involving your chosen artist. Forty reach the final stage with a public vote making the final decision as to which artist appears where. In 2012, 21,000 votes were cast - taking part is a great way of engaging your local audience with your work.
All the info about the competition is here: http://museumsatnight.wordpress.com/2012/12/13/connect10-competition-win-artist-funding-museums-at-night/
The ten artists you could win are:
Jake and Dinos Chapman, irreverent Turner Prize nominees
Martin Creed, artist and musician who won the 2001 Turner Prize
Mat Collishaw, photographer and video innovator
Cullinan Richards, the sculpture and filmmaking partnership of Charlotte Cullinan and Jeanine Richards
Susan Forsyth, sculptor of large geometric interactive artworks
Random International, digital artists and creators of the Barbican's Rain Room
Gavin Turk, who created the travelling art circus House of Fairy Tales
Julia Vogl, creator of social sculptures and colourful public engagement projects.
Richard Wentworth, curator, sculptor and installation artist
Julian Wild, creator of the Making the Connection communal sculpture construction project
Find out what they'd like to create at your venue here: http://museumsatnight.wordpress.com/2012/12/18/connect10-competition-what-could-the-ten-artists-do-for-you/
