Dear List Members,
IEEE recognises how important it is to ensure you get value for money from your institutional subscription to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library http://ieeexplore.ieee.org
With this in mind we are again offering to run training and awareness events at your University.
IEEE Client Services Manager Ruth Wolfish and your local IEEE representative will be available to visit your sites. If you are interested in hosting a session at your location please let me know as soon as possible. We have some interest already but still have room for more. We are keen to help you promote your IEEE subscriptions to your end users.
We have availability on the following dates
15th April 2013
16th April 2013
26th November 2013
27th November 2013
28th November 2013
29th November 2013
We may also be able to visit you during the UKSG conference on 8th to 11th April 2013 if you are located within 1 hour of Bournemouth.
The events can be in several different formats as follows
1. Formal
An 60 minute "tips and tricks session" at your university for both students and staff, showing them the best methods to search the IEEE Xplore database, recent changes in the services will be highlighted. The aim of this session is to highlight the depth of content in the database.
2. Table Top or "Pop up Library"
We can visit your Engineering or Computing departments with a table top presentation in the hallways, this is a great way of reaching out to engineers or students who do not regularly visit the library.
Do let us know if you would like a visit from IEEE!
In addition we are planning an IEEE User Group Meeting in London on Friday 12th April 2013. Save the date!
Kind regards
Steven Tweedie - on behalf of the IEEE
