Dear All
Some of you may be aware that JISC Advance is running a project called
JACSON, which is looking at the potential of a SURFConext
(http://www.surfnet.nl/en/Thema/coin/Pages/default.aspx) style platform
for JISC, building out from existing JISCmail lists. The project is
best demonstrated through this demo:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtDxRc8Tjdw. The project is essentially
collaboration tools supported by effective group management and
federated login.
We have approached several more focused working group mailing lists to
take part in the pilot but it would be useful to also get feedback from
looser groups such as the jisc-shib list to see if there are any
benefits / drawbacks for such a community. Due to the natural interest
area of this group in identity and group management, we think it would
be a good pilot group.
Would there be any objection to us using this list for this purpose, and
would anyone be interested in giving some feedback if we do? It's worth
noting that nothing would change for list in general - for those
interested there will be the additional ability to use a portal and make
use of the proposed tools.
With thanks in advance from Advance
Nicole
